Thanksgiving weekend kicked off with the most beautiful and vibrant display of northern lights. Around 8:30 at night, Camille notice flashes of colour in the sky, grabbed her camera and ran outside. As she stood outside the aurora borealis grew in intensity and vibrancy. The lights surrounded the resort, and no matter where you looked; north, east, south, or west, you could see them dancing in the sky with beautiful colours of greens and purples against a backdrop of bright stars.

Since our Saskatchewan cabin rentals are located in the rural community of Shell Lake, we don't have the light pollution that cities have. This allows you to view the night sky more clearly, and makes the stars, moon, and northern lights shine brightly. You'll notice in the photo that to the left of Cabin Eight purple and green northern lights dance alongside the big dipper constellation on the right. Aurora Skies Resorts in Shell Lake, Saskatchewan is the perfect place to witness the aurora borealis and is also great for star gazing. Sometimes you can catch Camille outside with her telescope looking at the moon. Don't be afraid to ask her if you can take a peek, she loves sharing her knowledge and love for the night sky.
